'[PIC]: Free picstart (old version) to a good home'

Hi, I'm using a Picstart Plus 2.30 version but I
also have an older version, a 1.6 firmware, the one
that was an open PCB with a 28pin ZIF socket
(not a pretty plastic case).
The software with it is 1.6 version, and it's a
Picstart, not a Picstart Plus. The chip is marked
(C) 1992 on the board.

The original box comes with two large manuals,
the Microchip data book, and the Embedded control
handbook, both thick and heavy. It had a Mpasm
users guide but i'm keeping that. :o)

After reading Vasile's post about things being hard
to find in some countries it made me realise the
things we take for granted when we get the easy
life. I remember being a poor kid stripping parts
from old radios because I couldn't afford new
capacitors and transistors.

So it is free to a good home. It has the programmer
software with it on 3.5" floppy. It's dos software.
I think Microchip also have the original files on
their web site, and the main chip can be upgraded
in firmware, it's in a socket.

It needs a 9vdc plugpack and a serial lead to the PC,
but other than that is complete. I have chucked in
a 16C84 4MHz and 16F84 10MHz chip too.

If someone in a "poorer" country wants it I will
pay postage and mail it to you. It will do older PICs
like 16C57 and 16C71 already, but will need a firmware
upgrade to do more modern stuff. Does anyone
want it or do I throw it away because it's too old
and it's not the latest version??
:o)

If Brazil and my house fits the bill, of course it will have a prestigious place in my worktable (aka kitchen table) :o)

Roman,

If nobody elese wants it, I'll take it.  And I'll pay the postage.
Let me know if you can't get rid of it.   I hate to see any PIC
hardware thrown away.

                                                       Regards,

Hi to everyone who responded, in all fairness
Alexandre asked first and I believe he's in the
situation there in Brazil to use it. So let's
not tie up too much list time on this, unless
someone else wants to donate stuff to Milan
in Yugoslavia... :o)

Sir Tony, I'm also interested in the programmer,'coz I really cannot afford to
buy a good programmer.

I was hoping, if I'd be the one lucky enough to have your programmer...=)
Thank you!

Ok this is all getting ridiculous! :o)
No use everyone trying to be so good to each
they all pass the thing on like a hot potato!

I will send mine to Alexandre in Brazil, since
he was the first to ask. Milan was the second
to ask so if I had another programmer spare
I would send it to him. Maybe there is a third
person with a spare unit that could help Jose??
:o)

Do you mean sir Roman that sir Milan won't be getting a PICSTART from you like
he said below? Maybe he misunderstood...=(

Sir Tony, I hope you just give the Parallax programmer you would be donating
to sir Milan. He was the first to ask from you.

Thank you to all! =)
Best regards.
