The DS1307 datasheet says 2 wire protocol, but not I2C ?
Is it a different protocol? Or is it a problem with philips ?

It's I2C.  Might be a Philips problem, but even if they
got that sorted out they probably didn't feel like
fixing the data sheet (would you? :)

Frys.  Hmm, they're on the web?  Have they joined the
computer age?   Seriously, type 'frys' into a search
