Hi, everyone, Even though I have RE3 set as an output, I can't write to it. The value in ddre is 0x00, but when I try to write 0x0F to port e, it only sets the bottom three bits! I do not have a 17CXXX but had the same type of problems with my 16F877 until I found that PORTE was setup by default as ANALOG and you have to set it up first as digital before using it!! {Original Message removed}

Whenever you see something like this, check what peripherals might use that pin. RE3 is also a capture input.
