'[PIC]: BODEN config bit'

Is there any reason NOT to set the BODEN_ON configuration bit when using the
16F87x series?  I have an external brown-out circuit set up on most of my
other PIC projects that use 16C71's, 16F84's, etc.  If this chip has an
internal brown-out option, why not use it always?

If you plan to operate the chip at low voltages.

Uhh, thanks anyway.

Cheerful regards,

If you are running at less than 5V.

There are one or two reasons not using the BOD.
1. it consume a bit more current if enabled.
2. The voltage trippoint may be to high to fit your design.

..or care about power consumption - the internal brownout det takes
several hundred times more current than a good external one.
