'[PIC]: 16F87X data sheet confusion'

Hello,

I'm am looking over the PIC16F87X datasheet and I'm a little confused
in the DC characteristics section, specifically the section listing
the power-down current, Ipd (Section 15.1, page 156).  It lists three
different parameters, D020, D021, D021A.  And they all list different
values of current usage, however the conditions (Vdd = 4.0V, WDT
enabled) are the same for all three!  Does anyone know what the
differences are between these three parameters?  I must be misreading
part of the document.

From DS30292B (probably older than yours)

               Typ  Max uA

D020       7.5   30   Vdd=3V, WDT enabled, -40 to +85C
D021       0.9    5    Vdd=3V, WDT disabled, 0 to 70C
D021A    0.9    5     Vdd=3V, WDT disabled, -40 to +85C

D020      10.5  42   Vdd=4V, WDT enabled, -40 to +85C
D021       1.5   16   Vdd=4V, WDT disabled, 0 to 70C
D021A    1.5   16    Vdd=4V, WDT disabled, -40 to +85C

I don't see mention of D020 in any current errata documents,
but maybe I missed one

One of us has an old manual.  Mine is DS30292C, and section 15.1 appears
on page 154 instead of 156.

However, you have a good question.  I don't see any different conditions
in my manual either, but the maximum current varies from 16uA to 42uA
depending on which line you chose.  Sounds like somebody left out a few
details.

Yup, I've got 30292c:

That's interesting.  The second set, for 16F87X, has similar values in
my doc, but the conditions are different.  Yours makes a lot more
sense. :)

That's the same version I have.  Looks like I gave the page number
that Acrobat thinks its on, not what is printed on the page.  You are
correct, it is on page 154 in mine as well.

Yeah, I think Jinx's conditions are the correct ones and that they
introduced the errors in the later version.
