'[PIC:]term program for testing PIC serial output'

In the past day or two, someone posted a link to a DOS terminal program
that would show the hex equivalent of the received data. I could use one
right now! As I recall, the link posted did not work for me. Someone else
mentioned Crosstalk. I have Xtalk 4 and its hex display filters out the
MSB, even if the port is set for 8 bit characters.  So, anyone have a
favorite terminal program that shows hex before I write my own?

Hi Harold,

I use term95 (IIRC) under Norton Utilities, it works great :o) (If you want
I can split the term program and send you a copy for evaluation purposes (as
you know you can only use it for 14 days of evaluation and then either buy
it or delete it (that was why when I  installed my clock on the PC was set
to the year 4040, and I have roughly 2018 years of use left until my 14 days
expire)....

It is a fully licensed copy, just one that I can not find the installer
disks or I would send a copy of them (I have a back up zip of the entire
directory on HDD as I use this program for writing code and moving files etc
as well as the terminal program :o)

Regards,

Kat.

Harold..it was me who mentioned Xtalk...i have the revision 3.6 and it does
not have the problem you are refering to... the zipped file should be about
65 kb in size...and given that 1) the product has been discontinued for
years and 2) you have a later version ...I dont think anyone will care about
me sending it to you...if you happen to want it  :)

THANKS to those who sent me stuff on this. I tried one out and verified
my code is working properly. So, the prototype ships to the customer
today!  Again, thanks!
On another matter, anyone else have trouble with Microchips new website
crashing their browser? I'm running Netscape 4.7 and it really messes up.
I finally had to go disable javascript and cookies, clear the cache, then
go in again. Nice having websites that work!

I had troubles with http://www.microchip.com using NS 4.5x but they went away
after I turned off javascript. The biggest problem is that afaik the
text-only version is not consistent with the latest version, so I cannot
fallback to it. Please correct me if I am wrong (look for recent documents
added to the new site in the text-only version).
