Is it possible to be measured quickly changing temperatures like the temperature of the gases into the combustion chamber of the diesel engine? All I found in the net were the FISO Fiber Optic Sensors that have good response time <1ms but the temperature range is very restricted - only 200 C. Does anyone know how can be measured so quickly changing temperatures of about 1500 C? And look at Maxim's website for thermocouple interface devices: they have one that combines the amplifier, a/d and cold-junction compensation to give direct readout in Celcius. There are three fundamental sets of considerations (1) the response and repeatability of the transducer, (2) the acquisition/conversion and processing time and (3) the resolution and accuracy requirement of the measurement.
