It looks like you can finally buy dsPICs from the mchip web site. The only
one listed as having a price is the dsPIC30F2010, a 28-pin chip with 512
bytes RAM, 4K instructions (12KiB instruction flash), 1024 bytes of data
flash, and a pretty good set of peripherals.

Obviously they must have at least a batch of usable DSPIC30F6014 chips as
well... the EEPROM bug (only works at 20MIPS) seems the most irritating
of the errata on a quick perusal.

PQFP-80, 2 CAN, 8K of SRAM, 4K of EEPROM, and 16 channels of 12-bit ADC.

Notice that they have an -ES (engineering sample) designation still. Also
of interest is that they're only available PB-Free (related to recent lead
free solder disscussions in [OT:]).

Oh and incase you'r like me and are about to look them up to find the price
$8.48USD each, $5.73 in 100s.
