'[PIC:] ICD2 and reset....'

Hi,

I've bought and receive last week some Dwarf boards (DB001), but it
seems i've got a problem to run my ICD2 with: Reset = 5V, ICD2
disconnected Reset = 1.8V, ICD2 connected.

I think the 33kOhms(pullup of RESET)  resistor is too high. I remember
someone has got this problem on the list recently, but cannot found this
message in my outlook's folder "piclist". Some one got a idea of the
value I can use? (I've got here 100R, 1K, 10K, 100K). I've already use
3k3 in other design with ICD1.... Is 1k should be correct? (no matter
for current consumption)

the reset will be controlled by the icd (pulled down).
therefore, the pull-up should be about 100k.

100k is higher than I've ever connected, but I can vouch for as high
as 50k with an ICD2.  33k is CERTAINLY acceptable.

There's no capacitor on the 'MCLR line, is there?  ICD2 manual warns
against that, since the rise/fall time on 'MCLR/Vpp can be important.

Definitely no cap on the /MCLR line on a Dwarf Board, because it would
give problems with my Wisp628 progger too.

both are available again

you mean packet received?

PS I'll look into the ICD2 problem - IIRC I could program a chip with a
33k pull-up without a problem.
