I just checked out their website...interesting tools, and pretty good
prices...a C compiler that supports both 16f and 18f and is about $80US?
They also have a pretty cool looking ICD. Anyone actually ever used
their stuff? I'm considering getting into C for micros, seems like an
attractive price. Also, they drop the price of the compiler if you order
it with the ICD. Interesting...anyone have any experiences they'd like
to share?

Well I do!

There are a couple of annoying things, but they are to do with the editor rather than the code.  The main problem in the editor area is that it is not user friendly as far as typing errors are concerned, so some errors will tell you, you have done something wrong, others will annoyingly (in XP) inform you of a windows error and close the program down. However at the risk of getting another nasty email for making negative comments about them the latest HEW environment form Renesas has similar failings as far as error messages are concerned.

The simulator and wave injector I think are superb and are the main reason why I stick with them as well as the integrated ICD and programmer ( a separate piece of kit).

As far as compiling size (they use a proprietary linker) is concerned, it depends very much on the device - naturally it is larger than using assembler as it always adds in code for clearing all variables to zero and setting up a software stack and heap. - For the 18F series, I think Basic18 produces tighter code, but it doesn't as yet support proper strings.  I also use Sergio's XCSB, but tend towards the FORED stuff purely because of the simulator and PicKey programming with ICD.

I own the profesional version and am quite happy with it. The wizard is
quite easy to use (and expandable). I also have their PicKey, which is an
ICSP programmer and ICD in a small USB-connected package.
