Here's one source of Chip On Glass LCD displays. This is the manufacturer
(Fema Electronics Corp.) that Microchip uses for the Chip On Glass LCDs on
some of their demo boards. Not sure how easy or hard it is to acquire these
LCDs from Fema in low quantities. Maybe someone has some real-world
experience with this company they would like to share.

I purchased four CG1621-SGR1 16x2 cog LCD displays from Fema in late January
of this year.  $10.00 per unit and 11.02 UPS blue shipping.  The were very
willing to sell in small quantities and were easy to deal with.

Their info:

Fema Electronics Corp.
12 Stults RD suite 103
Dayton, NJ 08810 USA
609-409-1720
http://www.femacorp.com

Hope this helps.

Hi David,

Thanks for sharing your experience. That's great news for the onesie-twosie
folks. I realize the original poster was looking for a larger display --
perhaps the 100 x 64 dot display from Fema might be of use.

Best regards,

newyorkelectronics lists them on their website
http://newyorkelectronics.com/mpc/docs/Site/Graphic%20lcd.html but I have no idea if they have stock.
