Ericsson I888. Not cheap, but I bought one specifically because it
is a dual-band GSM 900/1900 phone, so I can roam in the USA. It
has a built-in infra-red link, and an accessory cable is available
that plugs into an RS232 port. The phone itself is, AFAIK, CMOS levels,
but the serial port is built into it, so the cable is just a level
converter.

Regards, Clyde

Hi Justin,
We are shipping 500 Nokia 6090 Mobile 8 watt phones to Aus with our own PIC
based alarm connected to the RS232 port. This phone works like a bomb and
will be used as a phone and alarm all in one. The port speed is 19200 but on
start up we set it to 9600 for easier handling. All the info can be found at
http://www.nokia.com/phones/6090/index.html
the price is also good at US $ 400 per phone. Contact me direct if you need
more info.

Nope, GSM only. I haven't seen any CDMA phones here yet, I guess they're
coming since the CDMA network is in place.
