I do not know digikey.ca but digikey.ie has a free shipping here in Ireland
over 65 EUR -- I guess that was around 100 USD by the time they introduced.

I used Mouser once. They shipped UPS. I will probably never use Mouser
again.

(UPS charges insane brokerage charges, on that ~$50 order the brokerage
was something like $20 IIRC)

If they've changed from UPS then perhaps people should give them a try.

Mouser has improved since my previous bad experience, 2 things I found still
lacking are:

a. back order shipping is chargeable but digikey has 1 free back order
shipping.  This allow you to place enough to qualify for the free shipping,
and at the same time get your urgent part fast and the filler at a later
date.

b. some items do not have free shipping.  This is easily overlooked, I got
hit the last time when they were charging US$20 flat fee, and that item took
the fee to US$80.  Mouser was not responsive at all, I had to refuse
acceptance at my door and claimed back from the Visa.
