I cam across this 619 page PDF when trying to hunt down a 'hackers handbook' guide whose name I can't recall, just what it was about. Before anyone shoots and lands on the ceiling, this is hackers in the original sense of the word. I still haven't found th ebook but this onme might interest:

Eilam Eldad Reversing: - Secrets of Reverse Engineering

It is aimed from my quick mouse through at x86 based software, .

The book is on a Russian site. type in the title with .pdf on the end and I imagine Giggle will pick it up, it's where I found the link.

Make of it what you will.

It's available here to download for £15  http://www.amazon.co.uk/Reversing-Secrets-Engineering-Eldad-Eilam/dp/0764574817

I don't think it's that useful

But the "Hacking" book might be on Amazon or even that link

Writer's blog   http://www.eldadeilam.com/

I could find no download links that didn't want registration.
If anyone that works please do tell.
About all I tried pretended to be free and then weren't. Such an
unethical approach doesn't augur well for what else you may expect at
their hands.

The link below is where I downloaded it from.

Seeing that it is available on Amazon, I wonder if the above website link might not be a bona fide carrier of the book.

Just a stab in the dark - the hacker's guide you were after wasn't the Jargon
File was it ?  Used to be distributed with Slackware and other GNU/Linux
distributions.  Ah, nostalgia :)
