'[OT] which Parallel port card'

When using a parallel port PIC programmer what parallel card do
people use to protect the mobo port?. I can't find any ISA or PCI
parallel cards for sale. I've found plenty of multi-IO cards but none
of them allow the com/ide/fdd ports to be disabled AFAIK
thanks Mike W

mike just get a old ibm mono vidio card with printer port.
if you look for Microcomputer Research. Inc. card type MRI-PP-22
this is a ISA Enhanced parrallel I/O card with 2 printer address
3BC-378-278-368-268-358-258 or LP1 to LP7 or disabled. at a cost of about
#20 plus postage.
All the best Art.

Computer-Gate has a one-directional card, I can get my catalog out and
give you the part number, if you want a flat plain LPT card that's NEW.
IIRC $6.95 or $7.95; Get a print catalog, their web site's a sick
puppy, they do have an 888 phone number (888-437-0895) and have OK
stuff.
I keep finding these cards used at the local used computer sales etc.,
if I can find one box I could mail you one for a couple bucks,
probably. Don't hold your breath though <G> I've seen a few that could
be jumpered any way you wanted including 2nd IDE channel or 2nd FDD
port.

I re-ship for small US & overseas businesses, world-wide.
(For private individuals at cost; ask.)

Due to my stupidity and filtering rules applied to incoming mail I
have lost at least two replies via e-mail to the message below and I
have no idea who sent them. Would those who e-mailed me with
comments please re-send them.. thanks
