'[OT] looking for Intel-Hex-Editor'

Hi folks,

I'm looking for an Intel-Hex-Editor which I can use for editing a
complete programmer Hex-File in order to change some customer dependent
data.

Of course I know what entries an Intel-Hex-File consists of but I don't
like to calculate the checksum manually. So I suppose there should
already exist a utility like an ordinary Hex-Editor which automatically
calculates the checksum.

Unfortunately I couldn't find one yet. So any hint will be appreciated
highly (shareware or freeware preferred)!

Best regards,
Marc Schmaeche

Marc,

Try UltraEdit-32.  I've been using it for editing EXEs, HEX files, etc
for a couple of years.  Its also a good programming editor (with custom
syntax highlighting, macro recording, etc.).

Last time I looked, the shareware version (I registered for USD 45.00)
was available at:

Hi,

I have seen in the PIC world anywhere the following utilities:

BIN2HEX and HEX2BIN.

So you can convert your HEX to BIN, edit it, then convert back.

i have a http://www.needhams.com emp20 programmer. you could download the software
and use it in demo mode to edit files. this would allow you to read or write
a number of different formats.
