Anyone know were I can get software that can convert a PDF image (PCB)  to bmp or vector so that I can CNC mill the board?
I have tried various packages but they just don't do it well enough? ( vectoreye / pdf2bmp / konvertor etc)

or is there another way to get a pcb layout from PDF into dxf format?

thanks

Ghostscript + GSview is the way. You can also create PDF's.

Cheerful regards,

Bob

Would pressing the "Print Screen" and pasting it into image editor and
saving it as bitmap do the job?  Or am I oversimplifying?  Please let me
know if it works.

P.s. Print screen is a feature of windows

Do you have access to Adobe Photoshop?

Just open the PDF page in one of those programs (select the desired page and
bitmap resolution), change to RGB color if it was in CMYK, then save as
BMP.

You can get pretty much as high resolution on the bitmap as you like (provided
you have the memory to handle huge bitmaps), *IF* the original PDF had vector
Postscript stuff to describe the tracks. If it's a GIF or JPG image
internally,
there will be other issues.

(or use Ghostscript/GSView, as Bob Blick suggests- download both programs eg.
http://www.cs.wisc.edu/~ghost/gsview/get46.htm , and use the "Convert"
function).
