... after a lifetime spent noticing gravity, inventing calculus, yelling at
prostitutes and mixing magic potions.

The James bloke got tired of everyone being a PITA, and of Russell & Bob
arguing over how the list should be run, said "screw it, YOU run it then"
and went off to grow tomatoes and play with trains or something.

It's a shame this
<http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/news/article2428954.ece> is just
another excuse for a British tabloid to show women in their undies, and not
a real product.  It's something James would actually find useful.  You
invent a substance that expands (and contracts) a significant amount over a
small temperature range, and all you can think of is to stick it into
women's bras?  Gah.  Must stop reading fark.com.

Nothing.  Typical intellectual who reckons he can rest on his laurels and
collect the dole.  Tsk.

He's around.  Doesn't check out the list much, except to keep the
PICList.com FAQ up to date.  His most recent post to the list was
April 9, 2009, "[EE] Better "7-Segment" type digits from an LED matrix
with 7 IO pins".  He welcomes direct contact, and as he posted his
contact information in that (and many previous) posts, I doubt he'll
mind if I repost it here:

James Newton

Email him, give him a call, etc.  Then you'll know what he's currently up to.

He seems to be busy with MSP430.
http://www.nabble.com/MSP430-to-TMP102.-Anyone-done-that--td23876000.html

I read that mailing list occasionally. So far I have not used any
MSP430 yet even though last time I did consider to use the
MSP430 with the built-in sigma-delta ADCs but the performance
of that ADC is too low to be considered.
