I have an unindentifiable display.

It has the markings:
94V0

and is made by Seiko Instruments.

I cannot find any data on it.
It has a 14 pin dual row connector on it.

And the HD44780 controller and a HD44100 controller.

Any/all help is appreciated,
Andrew

Sounds like a standard LCD with no backlight.
The pinout is as described in numerous places.
You'll have to write a test routine to find out
how many rows and columns.  I'll guess 1 or 2
rows.  Depending on the size you can guess
columns too.

I have the Seiko documentation.
I'll look at it.  It describes
several of their configurations.
If it does have a backlight, then
it may not have the readback function
pin.  But, I just looked and counted
pins again and find it hard to believe.
I have several LCDs hanging around.
Maybe it is one with no E line.
Dunno.  Will review.

Can you get more??? Cheap?

Try the following URL and mine for your display:
http://www.seiko-usa-ecd.com/lcd/html/

I can't find any with "14 pin dual row"
(which I assume is standard 0.10 inch IDC)
"AND" LED backlighting on the same connector.

Lemme know...-Walt

OOPS...
I meant 14 pins TOTAL... :(
7pins per row!
dual row.

I bought two at a hamfest for $5 a piece...

the backlight is two separate terminals.

Oh in that case there are plenty.
Just go to http://www.seiko-usa-ecd.com/lcd/html/
and find your LCD.  Follow their instructions!

Hi,

I have several Seiko Graphicd LCDs, from old B&W laptops, there are a
few types with different controller chips on board. Does any one know
where I can get data sheets or even just info on how to drive them.

The majority of them have 20 pin connectors,
The SII G643G REV.E  use Hitachi controllers HD61104A and HD61105A,

others use SED1600F0A and SED1610F0A and only have 14 pin connector.

As these are obsolete parts, I can't find any info from Seiko's web
site.

Thanks in advance
