'[OT] Thank you all'

Dear Piclisters,

I've been on the piclist for 3+ years, and I've gotten so much out
of it. I've made friends, learned a lot, and helped a few people
out.

However, it's time for me to move on, and I've now unsubscribed.
There has not been much to interest me here for a while, but all
excuses aside, when I find myself hurting good people it is
clearly time for me to leave.

Hopefully those I've wronged will forgive me, and sometime in the
future if I feel I can behave in a civilised manner I may return.

I'll be at ESC in San Jose next Tuesday and hope to bump into a
few of you there.

Best regards,
Bob

Please don't leave because of your slip-up ... we've all made a few
faux pas from time to time in our lives.  You're a valuable member
of the list!

I'll second and third that.
WE have all--to quote a feisty old lady attorney I once met --"stuck our
tits in the wringer" more than once.  Trick is to learn and move on.

Hell, Bob. If you are leaving because of lack of interest, that's
one thing. If you are leaving over an accidental public message,
there is no reason to go. We need your expertise here if you are
still interested in PICs.

As far as Andy, he is a `grumpy old redneck'. But, hey, I'm a
`grumpy old hippy/vet' with a bit of red on my neck and a
ponytail' ;-)

I'm also a "grumpy old hippy/vet with a bit of red on my neck
and a ponytail" and a shaggy beard, hiding in the hills of California.

Tom,

Can I take offense at that?  Please??  <G>

Read my note to Bob about the grumpiness.  Anybody else think I'm really
grumpy?  If so, please accept my apologies.  I have no intention of
appearing that way.  Please, forgive me.

As for red neck, well, you got me.  I play banjo, drive an old car (not one
any self-respecting redneck would), have 7 kids (all with the same woman!),
go to a church that preaches the Bible, and, yes, they call me Jethro at
work.  Because I told them to.  It was either that, or be one of 3 Andys.
In a company of 8 employees.

Andy

Dear Mr. Blick,
I think you have behaved in a very civilised and courageous manner. It
takes lots of guts to admit one's mistakes and then to apologize publicly
like you've done. If the offended party doesn't accept the apology, then
that's their choice. We all make mistakes, nobody is perfect. You have
contributed a lot to this list and in so doing you have helped lots of
people. Personally I would like to see you stay in the list, and I think I
speak for many others.

I think a lot of us Piclisters will be very sad if you leave.
You've been very helpful to a lot of newbies and clearly experienced
in several areas.
Whether you're leaving or not, I wanted to thank you in the name of
all newbies you helped on the list. We will respect your choice.

We'll be waiting for your return!

Cheers!
