Check out
http://www.actum.com

They have a cool system that visually edits state diagrams and outputs PIC
assembly code.

I just tried it and it seemed to work OK.  Perhaps their server or internet
connection has been down.  Or maybe they've been the victim of the current
media-favorite denial-of-service attacks.

Graham:

I did access the page and if you are looking for an inexpensive way to do
the State Machine editing this might not be the way.  The basic package was
around 1700 in Europeon Community currency.  I don't know the exchange rate
but you have to purchase the base program and then the modules for the
appropriate PIC you are using (12 bit, 14 bit etc.)

Also I found their website to be aimed almost exclusively at the European
Community.  As I said their pricing was in Euro currency and they made
absolutely no attemp to convert them.  I would be concerned about support.
Of course they may just be a new company and are having growing pains.
