Depends on which source you are talking about. Many things don't transfer. Borland libraries (the infamous T series) are examples. Much of what doesn't come across is due to upgrading to ANSI and not keeping the pseudo-Borland standards. However, much is just dropped. If you wrote to ANSI standards, then you were probably OK - there are exceptions. If you used Borland specific libraries, you have a bit of recoding to do. JBuilder has a Brief mode. I remember having a conversation with borland, where the fellow on the other end was insisting that they didn't make such a product, and sitting on my desk is the borland box, with borland disks, and borland manuals, saying Turbo Modula II all over it. "We will never drop support for the PC Jr".. An IBM spokesman less than 30 days before support for the PC Jr was terminated. IBM RT anyone?

I worked on a demo unit for a couple of months in 1986. I remember I was sitting at it's console when I heard that the Challanger blew up. That was January (the month that they were announced), and I recall that we all appreciated it's space heating capabilities. AIX, as implemented on the RT PC, was essentially an application running on a lower-level OS called the Virtual Resource Manager, similar in concept to NT's Hardware Abstraction Layer. Later that year, we did an RFP for a whole workstation system: Workstations, servers, network cabling & electronics, etc. There were four bidders: IBM with the RT PC, Apollo with their Domain Workstations, DEC with the MicroVAX, and an integrator bidding Sun 3s. Hi, and what about Turbo Prolog? And Eureka (the Solver) 1.0? The latter I know is sold and to be found now as Mercury 2.09. It is excellent for the purpose its own (e. g. drawing function graphs, solving equations, etc.) I use it extensively at teaching.
