I really am reluctant to add to the noise.... BUT..
ATMEL ATMEL ATMEL bloody ATMEL....
I am pissed off with hearing about ATMEL....
We have invested heavily in PIC development gear, I subscribe to the
PIC list and have the PIC instruction set burned into my memory...
I guess the PIC Tattoo comes next.
Please.................... spare us the ATMEL rantings.. I get the
Outburst over with.. resume normal functions.
Thankyou for you're time.

| The note reacted to here was part of a private conversation
(and private joke) between Mark Willis. and me (we are neighbors
and <more often than not <G.> friends). Somehow a non Piclist
post to Mark got broadcast to you all. That all seemed fairly obvious
in context so I didn't bother with a retract. <Even though I realized it
WAS a slightly religious topic!!> So I apologize for publicly
<though accidentaly> touching upon such an emotionally charged
and sensitive issue, <somewhat in the nature of 'Andy's rantings'>.
But....... take a pill!! Or a Pilzner. Maybe the PICList is
destroying everyones' civility. Excessive public 'littering'
is reputed do that.
Relatedly, I claim that the one person who should have the absolute
right and DUTY to 'shut down' an errant thread, is the person
who started it. And I therefore declare this thread null and void and
dead and buried. R.I.P. Forevermore condemned to digital
nothingness. Hasta la vista. Bye bye, baaabbyy.

|Folks, Richard & I tease each other, voice and e-mail, all the time <G>
I'm planning some mass-produced items that won't be cost-effective with
Flash parts (unless I plan to sell 'em at a loss, or sell very few!), so
those will be OTP PIC driven - Richard's market area is better for Flash
parts, and we tease each other about it all the time. So, Richard was
just teasin' me, as usual <G> (I don't tease Andy, Tjaart, Jim, or
anyone else, either! <G>)
I think all of us need a week in the Bahamas or something, we're all
stressed. (I know *I* am!) Taking a few deep breaths solves stress
IMO, the more strings in my bow, the better; There's something to be
said for stronger strings, I imagine the current situation will change,
Microchip *has* to respond (or face losing market share.) Inexpensive
OTP parts are one response, die shrinks are another, the 16F8xx parts
are another, so they're in process. We're just hitting a pothole in the
path, right now - Let's not claw each others' eyes out over bad/weird

I was probably a bit over the top.. I wasnt meaning to be deadly
serious.. more that the endless "ATMEL is superior to you shitheads
using PICs" has gone on for months and the novalty has worn off.
I am also having major oral surgery at the moment and my patience is
a little thin, no excuse more an insight.
Im not a kill-joy.. really.
