Olin is referring this guy to PIClist. Please don't, Olin. :-)
"Maybe you should try the PIClist instead of this forum.
The root page is http://www.piclist.org.  The list is nominally
about PICs, but they talk about a wide range of subjects there
which I think is more to your liking.  You can tell James that I
referred you if you like."

Luckily PIClist is moderated.

Understatement of the year, very last post

"First of all sorry to the moderators for this post not being pic related"

That thread is why I prefer PICList being delivered by mail. Can
skim / pick / filter so much more easily than the forum format. I
belong to some MC forums but hardly ever post, generally use
them just to pick up info from time to time

In this case, it is really strange though that the forum moderator
does not delete the account of that guy. Maybe they also think
it is fun to watch this guy posting after a busy day. ;-)

Hmm, I have no problem to skim/pick/filter and search MC
forum. The default search function is not good. However use
Google ("site:http://forum.microchip.com something) is
really much more fun than to search PIClist archive.

Normally you will only have some interested topics so
it is really no problems for you to read the new posts
and search for old posts.

The strong point of Microchip Forum is that they are
very good of providing PIC related knowledge. For
example, you seldom see C18 and C30 related
questions here. Even some seasoned member of
PIClist will use Microchip forum for some more
in-depth PIC related things.

He is entertaining for a while but the posts get progressively
more rambling and you start skipping lines. The notion that
he's actually an Artificial Stupidity bot was very perceptive.
And someone else called him a "software bug" !! Conflict is
always good inspiration for comedy

That MC haven't given him the Size 9 from behind is no surprise.
My dealings with MC staff have been generally unsatisfactory,
and especially when it comes to technical doings. Either they don't
know what *I'm* talking about or they don't know what *they're*
talking about. Some replies I've had from them are just appalling

And I've given up asking if MPLAB could save bookmarks

The same with finding MC datasheets. Often quicker to use
Google. They've been nagged for years about the crappiness
of their search engine but it never improves

One thing being on PICList for so long has done is that it's taught
me to fend for myself. Which I can mostly do, but every now and
then a problem comes up that can't be solved by logic or research.
I think my last question for the forum was at least a couple of years
ago. The answer turned out to be undocumented buggy silicon. As
it turned out the forum wasn't able to help, despite some very good
efforts after a lot of head-scratching. Microchip themselves were
worse than hopeless, and I've never considered using their help
line again. And never will

I should be so lucky I could start a multi-national company like
Microchip, but I'd hope if I ever did it wouldn't be staffed by the
absolute ninnies I've dealt with over the years

Would that be:

   Unguided missiles?
   Revenge?
   Proxy attacks?
   DOS attack ?
   All of these?

In short:

:-))

(linking to the "firefox" thread, the funny thing about the PicGoogle
above is that is hosted on my Domotic-system PC, so I can see/log people
using it... and it's kind of fun :)
