part 1 385 bytes content-type:text/plain; (decoded 7bit) I don't ask for much. This (attached image) is a fairly generic IDC connector AFAIK, but I can't seem to find it at the usual sources (Mouser, Digikey, etc). Don't really care for Jameco nowadays (bad experiences), but can't even find it on their website. Any ideas where I can get these? Will try that. IIRC on Digikey.com, I search for "header" and one of the categories that comes up is "Headers and Receptacles". From there I select filters for "female", "receptacle", etc. But no dice today. I'll call them. Cheers, -Neil. Unfortunately, I only found astronomical priced ones on ebay. Digikey I don't know about, since they have huge shipping prices to Sweden. I wish you best of luck in finding them. -- - Rikard.

This is a prime example of a case where having the paper catalog is still a good idea! :) Digikey carries some Tyco/AMP connectors, they simply call them "socket connectors", for a 10 pin the number is ASC10H-ND, you can use that to figure out the necessary search terms for others. I guess the correct term is "socket connector" according to digikey. The magic word is "rectangular connectors" Mouser has a whole section, starting at page 1111 in their newest catalog. Download the .pdf, it will become your new best friend. The typical pitch is 0.1". There are the type you show, or there are others which will go to bare wire as well. -forrest

Yep, those are correct, and also the ones the others pointed out. I also spoke with a Mouser tech (and uploaded the picture to him) last night who said they are called "IDC sockets", but they don't come up with a search for "IDC". Yep, paper catalogs were great for this, but I had them all stopped some time ago when I moved to Florida. I get too much paper every month so really trying to keep it cleaner. What I really need is a faster internet connection so I can browse the PDF catalog less painfully :-) Thanks, -Neil. That's what I do and have a shortcut on my desktop to each one. Cause I'm not that smart :-) Seriously though, I was not aware that the whole catalog was downloadable (and never checked) ... thought it was page by page. Mouser once sent me a CD copy of their catalog (without asking) but I quickly learned that it was out of date. I'll do this tonight. Only thing now is figuring out how to get a copy of McMaster's catalog, which they will not send me a hardcopy of and which they said was not downloadable. Cheers, -Neil. unless someone has suggested it.... SAMTEC. I get samples within a few days from my rep, and production qty is normally not an issue.
