A steak, certainly sir.
[pouring noises]
How would you like that done?
[Roaring noises. Sensation as if midsummer 2003 has come again.]
...
Would you like fries with that?
[smell of searing and frantic bubbling noises]
Would you like anything to drink with that sir ?
[pouring noises :-) ]

If you stand close enough to that thing you can start eating immediately
(your hand, face etc)

I like the warning not to presoak the charcoal. I wonder what
the time frame is between presoaking and detonation ceasing
to occur at time of application of flame...
Frankly, the whole thing scares me awfully. "LOX" and
"amateur" are two words that should NEVER be used
together.

This is all done by college professors at the staff picnic for Purdue
college. I know some one who used to be on staff there and he said it
was quite the show. They used to have a video on the web site but I see
the college has made them remove it.
They had some other interesting things but I see they are gone also.

I know what you are saying but "Amateur" properly means 'not done for
money'. It includes people who are at world expert level. Certainly so
in the rocketry area, which is where most of the LOX BBQ lighters are
liable to come from.

Death is a definite possibility when "playing" with LOX.
