Ok, so it's the time of year that I start to think about what, if
anything, I'm sending to my best customers for christmas (I.E. card or
calendar)...

I would love to do a calendar this year, but I'm running into the same
problem that I've ran into in the past...  That is, finding a calendar
which I think would be of interest to the majority of my customers,
which are typically Network Engineer types, I.E. computer geeks - who's
interests aren't all that different from, say, the members of the piclist.

So, I'm hoping that some of you can tell me what is on your wall by your
desk that you enjoy as a calendar, and would enjoy getting next year as
well.   Imprintable calendars being a bonus.

Thanks!

Landscape photos of New Zealand, or failing that - of other scenic places.

Edna cartoon were pretty good - they're of a farming bent though. Does Dilbert do calenders?

I don't care much for pictures of Britney,  but this does remind me of when I
was a child and every December/January, when we filled up the gas tank,
the gas
station attendant would give you a calander with classy pictures of
naked girls,
a different girl for every month.  Each picture had some sort of
Esso/Exon/Shell/whatever_brand item or sign on it.  Funny enough, my
grandfather used to have it hung either behind the kitchen door, which
was open
all the way most of the time, so it was out of sight (but we knew it
was there)
and/or another in the small bathroom he had built in the backyard, hahahahaha.

Puppies and kittens are always welcome, maybe pictures that reflect the
time of
the year for each month.  Since most of your clients are engineers, maybe some
sort of tech picture.  But most engineers will gladly exchange their kitten
callendars for one with naked chicks when given the choice ;)

If it's calendars you want... I still have hopes of getting a PICList
calendar together before the New Year...

...but so far we have only three entries:

- Peter Todd's virtual cube spinning in an LED array:
http://petertodd.org/uuid/ad493202e759d8f5/media/spinning_cube.mpg (for the
calendar I'm thinking of 2 or 3 shots from that video along with some of the
more radical code from the 18f that runs the thing.

- Mike McLaren's vertical counter and delay code. Very nice use of macros.

- Hector Martins "Dance Dance Revolution" pad. It's a lightweight, durable
pad, with
the option of interfacing to several systems, and with lights, just like the
professional versions.
http://www.marcansoft.com/uploads/images/sgdp2/img_3130.jpg

Shirley, there must be some other PICListers out there who can send a photo,
schematic or code for a project they are proud of?  If you do, I'll stop
calling you Shirley.

Keep in mind, it doesn't need to be complete code or a complete schematic or
a photo that gives away any commercial secrets. This could be great
advertising for your company.

I will foot the bill for the 12 winning entries to get a copy of the
calendar and hopefully PICListers and others will purchase copies which will
support the PICList and maybe even build some prize money for the winners
next year.

<puzzled> Sounds like a very easy thing to do, I mean, don't all chicks
come naked by default? I mean, that's what I see in the McMurray
Hatchery calender...

I've always like the idea of a series of full-face photos of World Leaders, such as Tony Blair, and a set of darts!  :-)

This list is mostly about bare naked pics anyway. Surely engineers will prefer
to see the pics on the boards instead of cased units ...

"Airplane", the movie, was what drove the phrase into popular
use, I think.  It probably originated back in the vaudville days.
(I can picture Groucho Marx saying this; perhaps I saw him do so
in one of their movies...)

I meant my local microchip rep....not someone who reps me.  sorry if I wasn't clear on that.  So..you ask....how do I know who "my" local rep is...think they are listed on mchip site
