The currency conversion site  http://www.xe.com is useful, not least because the
name is easy to remember.

it is even quicker to just type the request in Google Search as in:

Search:$0.01 in Rand

In Fact Google is great for most conversions and faster than digging out
the calculator.

Quicker.

But without known provenance and of unknown merit.

And subject to (shouldn't be) unexpected errors eg

$NZ1 in inr

yields

66.71 Indian Rupee.

Which is wrong by a factor of ~= 1.37.

The small print says $US but as it was not what I asked for it may not be
realsed - except if one knows the ~ rate expected.

And XE says 66.7008.
Refresh and XE is unchanged but Garglabet drops to 66.70.
Maybe one should average the values to get extra accuracy :-) (and
resolution).

_____________

But yes, subject to above sometimes important nitpickings the G'bet method
is useful.
