A mistype, gives a whole new meaning to the skills and experience required for a Field Engineer. The concept of marrying someone to 'get out' of the home country can be described as becoming a Russian Bride, and indeed, I have heard that it is common from many countries to do the same thing (Philipino, Indian, Russian, and more). Apparently in France, French Kissing is called English Kissing, and I am sure that Russian Roulette is played in other places too, etc. Basically, a Russian Bride is a term given to the concept, not the person, although it does appear to be that there are a lot of Russian Russian Brides ;-) As an interesting generalization, my 'feel' is that 20years ago (iron curtain and such) Russian women were believed to be ugly, hairy, weight-lifting wrestlers in the army.
