I'm wondering how universal hiccups are; does everyone get them?
Anyone on the list who DOESN'T?

I can't recall the last time I hiccupped more than four times consecutively-
once I get the rhythm down (after two or three) I can usually consciously
interrupt the cycle and stop it.  It seems to be related to holding my
breath, with an accompanying tightening of my diaphragm.  I've tried in
vain to teach the trick to others over the years, but it works for me.
