I want to look for a better terminal program than gtkterm and cutecom.
I am having some problems with gtkterm under Ubuntu with the Microchip
PICDEM FS USB CDC-ACM demo. Actually I am having problem with
the kernel as well for the bootloader. We think it is a Debian/Ubuntu
kernel problem.

Any recommendations? Minicom might be ok but I'd like to see if
there is a GUI based one better than gtkterm.

Xiaofan

I hate to be That Guy, but what's wrong with minicom? A terminal is
inherently text, would a GUI make it that much better?

No problem. I have no problem with console program. However
I do not quite like this kind of text based GUI program like minicom
or mc. They are ugly under X. Just my personal taste...

CTRL-ALT-F1 and you can fire it up on a virtual console so it's not
"ugly" in X.
