Finally.

I got it working. I asked the guy from AustriaMicrosystems himself to
send me his sample code. He kindly did.

I didn't even bother to look at my code, I just rewrote it using his
send_data method. Whatever, it works now and I'm happy.

And while I was testing it, I may have applied too much current to one
of the LEDs, it's now dimmer than the rest :(

Do you intend to compare your codes at sometime? You never know when
something similar might pop up, and the understanding of your code
versus his, might help you not make a similar error.

Yea, I looked at it. It was either the sending of the data or one
register I forgot to initialize.

Especially how it handles the timing issues of strobe and data.
