Would this be the "goldmine" company I've heard mentioned here
occassionally ? Has anyone dealt with them ? Are they reputable ?

The reason I ask is because the company above has components I've
been looking for, but they've not responded to my emails re availability,
freight options and money transfer details. They say they ship to NZ and
the order more than meets their minimum

If they're a bit suss I'll reluctantly, very reluctantly, shop elsewhere

TIA

Hi Jinx,

I've bought from them many times, they are reputable but probably just
wary.

Be sure you know what you are getting, they are strictly surplus and the
parts you get may be far from fresh, may have trimmed leads, etc. Read
the description carefully and don't let wishful thinking work on your
imagination.

Cheerful regards,

Bob

I have.

dunno, they delivered what I ordered, if that is what you want to know.

I just ordered from their webshop, using a CC to pay. I dunno whether
the shipping cost was visible when I ordred, but I order $1k or more, so
the shipping cost is not a big issue anyway.

I can understand that to some extent, internet fraud and all, but it's not
nice being ignored when you're trying to be a customer. I'll telephone
them if I have to

AFAICT the parts are unused. They show the manufacturer, who I
had a chat with. Unfortunately the manufacturer is OEM only. They're
aware of EG stock and suggested it's from a liquidation

Yep, that's them.  I've made several orders and been happy.  Like Bob
said, they're strictly "surplus" (or at any rate, neither their
selection of, nor prices for, non-surplus products (74HC logic, for
instance) are very good.)  I've found their descriptions to be pretty
accurate, though...

I have no international experience with them, of course.  I suspect
that they're not really up to the task of having that sort of info at
hand.  Like they say on their shipping page, you send in the order,
and then they get a quote from the post office.

Several years ago, we used to get regular shipments from them. It was nice,
since they are located in the same metro area, and we would get overnight
shipping for only $3.

They may have cut back on their support staff (many companies are doing
this). I'm pretty sure their website makes them look a lot bigger than they
really are.

If your order doesn't go through, let me know, maybe we could arrange
something.

I've ordered from them many times (I'm in Canada).  Great people to work with.

I've spoken with their people when looking for more information on
particular products - phone calls always have worked better with them
as opposed to emails.

I recommend them highly.

Thanks. But someone did finally reply by e-mail earlier today, so at
least I know someone's home. Didn't answer everything but enough
to place the order. Pity the NZ$ has dropped like a stone lately and
is only US$0.50, though even at a projected in-my-hands cost of
NZ$10 each (hopefully less if I can chose "Very Slow Boat" delivery)
the parts are worth it for various projects. And as I can't find them in
NZ anyway, it's p*** or get off the pot
