'[OT] Creating multiple image Gerber files'

Sorry for the slightly off topic post.

A while back, when it didn't matter to me :),
there was a brief discussion on software which
would enable the combining of multiple circuit
board images on a single panel.  I have a board
which is about 1.5" x 1.75", ( Yes it uses a PIC).

I would like to make a large panel with a number
of boards per panel.  Can anyone point me to
software, Preferably freeware or shareware,
which will allow copy and paste editing of
Gerber files or some other way of accomplishing
this task?

Thanks in advance for your help.

Traxmaker will allow you to cut and paste.  I usually put multiple small
boards on one.  Not shareware though, about $300.00.  They have an
evaluation version on their Web site.  Don't know if the Gerber output
is disabled or just printing and saving.

There is a shareware router you can get from AP Circuits in Alberta,
Canada.  I think http://www.apcircuits.com.  Not sure if it has cut and paste.
You can also check with their tech support for an answer to your
question.  They should have an answer.  Pretty good place for cheap high
quality double sided plated through boards to.

there is a freeware gerber viewer/editor, gcprevue. if you have trouble
locating it (should come up in most search engines), send me a mail.

Company called "ECAM" has some good stuff that is down loadable from their
web site.  You'll need to track down the URL though.
This is a demo/stripped version of the professional system our board house
uses.

How about a simple copy and paste in you layout program?

The easy way is to ask your board house to put as many boards per panel as
you want.
