I had to open my mouth...
Note that this was not specifically religious writing, just little sayings
from the front of a hymnal.
Also, they were not attributed to anything supernatural. Just a metaphor to
help show how people react (or could react) sometimes.
And finally, I paraphrased it (a lot, in fact) so I wasn't "quoting
scripture and verse."
My error was that I credited the source. I'll not do that in the future and
would encourage others to avoid the same. Just because I found that in one
place, doesn't mean every other religion couldn't have the same sort of
"lesson" in some other form. It's a universal thing and my crediting one
"faith" is not fair to the others, I'm sure.
So, by all means, if you find a topic appropriate bit of wisdom in your holy
writings, and you don't mind, A) not crediting it to your specific religion,
B) paraphrase it C) remove all references to the supernatural then I don't
see why you can't post it here...
Did I mention it should be appropriate to the topic?

I spend a fair amount of time trying to understand others
religious/philosophical beliefs.
I appreciate the posts that help me do this. It only takes a moment to
delete those I deem of no value.
No one is forced to read them!
