'[OT] A-weighted scales for dynamic range values (a'

Doing some googling...but can't find the answer. Is an A-weighted dB value as compared to a non-weighted larger or smaller than the equivelent dB.
For example, 90dB is a typical upper end range for most consumer audio, while 100dB is more pro-audio. But if the input channel is 90dB A-weighted...does this translate to a larger or smaller dB value? Or maybe there isn't really a comparison.
