Well at long last this last fact is no longer true. My dissertation is signed,
sealed and delivered. I'm just waiting on the official paper.

It's still on my list of things to do.

Congratulations! To get a PhD from an well-respected US university
is really a remarkable achievement!

So we should expect an EasyProg Linux program pretty soon? ;)-

Congratulations!  I know this is a big hurdle and a giant monkey off your
back.

So what subject is your degree in and what was your thesis about?

Doctor, doctor, give him something for his cough.
  OK, here's a quarter...
That's not much!
It's not much of a cough...

Sorry,

Thanks. Definitely a big hurdle and an even bigger relief.

> So what subject is your degree in and what was your thesis about?

Computer Science. Systems specifically. The thesis targets a model for
doing dynamic adaptation for real time multimedia performances. The
innovation is using cues from the audience of the performance to guide
adaptation decisions. We measured the difference in output of the actual
performance from the theoretically complete performance along with the
associated delay of each. Results show that dynamically adapted performances
had no delay and that system resources were directed to the important
elements of the performance as specified by the audience.

Next steps include figuring out how to tune these preferences in meaningful
ways. As a systems thesis, it focused on the system/model, and less upon the
user interface aspects. Such is research.

You forgot one of our favourites: Dr.Shipman, possibly the most prolific individual serial killer ever.  (If
you're unfamiliar, he's reckoned to have killed at least 215 of his patients, possibly many more).

But never mind about that - congratulations Dr.BAJ (Thesis your lucky day :-) !

But he looked so kindly with that beard, glasses, a little
portly, and .... gasp.... Howard ?

Have you noticed that doctors are "evil" and professors
are "mad"

I had a friend, Joseph Andrew Bradshaw, and nobody noticed the initials
until somebody gave him an engraved letter opener as a wedding gift...
