CAN is used for powertrain, VAN for comfort/utilities
(radio, a/c unit, etc)

The phy layer is pair of wires with differential 5V signals. On the top
of it, there are VAN frames. VAN is an ISO standard, can't
remember the number but it's on the WiKi :)
