No PICs feature here but the PICLIST does -
One hour to go to Christmas here at the bottom/front of the world we
are probably the 1st on the PICLIST to enter Christmas day (certainly
no later than 1st equal). For the next 49 hours thereafter it will be
Christmas somewhere on earth.
Due to the PICLIST, I have corresponded directly with people from
Israel (today), Lebanon, USA and many other places. Very likely we
have people here from Iraq (or ex Iraq), certainly the Soviet
Republics, China and most other countries. Its nice to be able to
correspond with relatively little acrimony with so many from so
diverse a range of cultures and countries. I have specifically noted
the presence of Christians, Muslims and Atheists hereon. No doubt we
have many many other "-ians" and "-isms" here too.
Here's hoping and praying -
- That this Christmas can be a special one.
- That Israel and Lebanon can achieve a degree of peace and reasoned
debate which seems unlikely in the present situation.
- That Christian, Jew, Muslim, atheist (yes, you're all most welcome
too :-)) can partake in the intended spirit of the occasion.
- That something special can happen in Israel, Lebanon, Afghanistan,
Kosovo, Ireland, Iraq, USA, Sudan ... (to name a very few).
May God bless you all. Have a blessed 49 hours.

Steam engines may be out of fashion, but when you consider that an
internal combustion engine would require recovery of waste heat by
transfer just before top dead centre then fashion becomes rather
redundant, USE STRATIFIED HEAT EXCHANGERS ! and external combustion.
You heard it first from: Graham Daniel, managing director of Electronic

I know two men from Nigeria. In ther home country, they are from
separate ethnic factions, and would not even speak to each other.
Here in the States, they find they have more in common with each
other than anyone else, and have become good friends. My good
Palestinian friend has finally broken through years of fear brought
on by persecution from Isreal, and reached out to make some Jewish
friends. My Jewish friends still carry the burden of the holocoust,
where they were oppressed.
But the finest Christmas story is of my friend who is German. He
fought in World war two in the German Army, and feels that he and his
people were hoodwinked by the lies they were told. Every Christmas,
this ex-Nazi soldier lights Hannukah candles and says a prayer.
Yes, there is hope for peace in the world.
