Hi all
We all followed the thread of the value of donation.
This leads me to the topic of sanctions.
The morality of sanctions.
And if it is moral to prevent people from practicing their normal life!!!!!
Well, many countries in the world suffer from sanction;Iraq,Lybia,Yugoslavia,Cuba,....... and the list is long.
Is it moral to prevent them from being part of the 21 century???
Sanctions means weak economy, low wages, inflation, crimes and hate.Yes,sanction leads to hate.
Can we discuss how to help people and countries under sanction???
Thanks

Hi Mohaned,

As inhumane as economic sanctions are, they're far better than war!
Remember Viet Nam, Afghanistan, the Balkans, Chechnya, etc.?  How
many millions of dead?  Let's all find a way to prevent our politicians
from sending our young men out to die!

Peace,
 -Nick T.

Very simple: Does the county under sanction allows entering of foreign goods? So let's get a "pool" and every one of this pool sends one or more things (programmers, components, books, software, et al) to a piclister in that country. We choose a country each week :o)

Ok, seems to be fun, but it's serious!

From what I understood, at least in the US, it makes it illegal to send
certain controlled technological item to 'sanctioned' countires.

Isn't the world a nasty place sometimes?
Heck, i'm an individual, and if I want to send
one of my old personal possessions to another
individual (a friend) they can damn well arrest me
and I'll make a big media hoo-ha about it. But i'm
not in the US and I realise that rules are not sacred.
:o)

I remember a guy who appeared in WIRED magazine that tatooed an encription program in his right arm, hehehe :oD He travelled from country to country and was accused of exporting controlled encription technology! ;oD

Yeah
and that is the problem.
Why prevent other people from learning???
It is illegal to do so in USA,but I think these laws are immoral!!!!

Alexandre
Do you thin countries under sanction have the right to choose to let foriegn
goods to enter or not.
They can't decide, simply because other forces are deciding for them.
The country itself doesn't put her self in sanction.
We have to find a way to let these things enter there.
I guess the idea of the pool is very serious.
We can move on.
But is there any way to let these things enter???
That is the question.
