I have just received my 456th rejection letter for a job application
(that only includes those who have the manners to acknowledge - don't
get me started on that one).

Now apart from the fact, I'm wondering if I have a cheap source of
wallpaper or perhaps the eligibility for an entry into the Guinness
Book of Records, this particular P-Off letter is remarkable in that
I've been rejected for a job I DIDN'T apply for! <Colin shakes head
wearily>

A stiff email has been swiftly dispatched back to the company
pointing out not only this fact, but that the position I had applied
for was on the 8 August of this year.

Still I suppose I did actually get a reply - so that some
improvement.

Colin <still stunned> expecting to get a letter telling him he won't
be getting that job as Admiral of the Fleet, that he didn't want in
the first place.

Dear Colin,

Her Majesty is pleased to offer you employment as the Admiral of the
Fleet.  We believe that your tenacity in your employment search has
proven that you have the talent to drive a desk better than any of our
current Admirals, and that this offer will be an opportunity for
professional growth with a dynamic team of professionals...

Three thoughts

- You seem to have quoted printable enabled :-)

- Maybe the NSA and UK & Oz equivalents have blacklisted you due to your
documented terrorist record.

- If not, maybe you could quote your documented terrorist record in applying
for jobs with the NSA or UK or Oz equivalents?

Well I wonder if I could arrange to have all the missile guidance
systems use the 12F675?

Thank you for the job offer!

Yours etc

You mean a certain someone is Lord of the Job Application?

Doh, I should have realised!

Now if you're lucky QP has been demobilised - oh wrong topic.

Stick close by your desk and never go to sea,
and you all may be rulers of the Queen's navy!

I think you need to use a more personal approach.
You will be surprised of how often that will get you to the front of the
line.

A simple Hello, I'm ...  When you are looking for employee's just remember
me.
Then a buisiness card and goodbye.

On your card.  You can then have a online resumé.

The way I got my job was by turning up and solving someone else's problem.
They couldn't forget that so easily.  Didn't take long before they asked me
to stop by again :-)

   Kyrre
