Hi,Everyone , I have a head ache .:-)
when I try to run some programs on my win XP home ,I get the attached erro.
I have tried anti virus programs, along with spyware programs .
This just started happening, and I can't put my finger on it.
Any help would be apreciated.
My next step was to do a system recovery, but then I thought about the list
and the PRO'S here so here it is.
TIA
victor

If you take a look at C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\AUTOEXEC.NT you will find that it
looks like an ordinary autoexec.bat (at least it should). Windows is
apparently complaining that it doesn't like what it finds in there. You can
open the file with Notepad or whatever.

Thank you for the reply .
How ever I'm lost!.
I do go to the dir specified, but the autoexec.nt. is not there.
YES I'm showing hidden files and folder under folder options.
is it possible that there should be one there but is missing???
if so,could someone send me a copy to get me started.
I have tried to restore to a previous date, but it is not successful.
thanks

Thanks to all for reading, but I fixed it!!!!
It was missing! The kid said that the system froze-up and had to do a cold
boot, some how the file went bye-bye.
I found a copy in the c:windows\repair dir
again thank you.

Here's mine. I believe all except the last line is the default and the last
line probably won't hurt you.
