I'll do it if you've got one of these handy to "relieve" the boredom

A "stand-alone" application of course

Stupid games with pics. Yes, I did spell "pics" right

You're in (pun intended) the right end of things at least with the
programming, the repair/service end would be much less pleasant.

Sure - I could do it standing on my head. Wait, let me re-phrase that.......

When you consider what outrageous activities go on as pub games
I see no reason why you couldn't set up a peeing league. Blow-up
sumo wrestling, dwarf-throwing, Velcro jumping, wet T-shirt contests
- hardly sophisticated entertainment. And what happens to all that
beer that's drunk ? Gotta go somewhere, why not make a quid out of it.
Owners of doorways around pubs would be overjoyed to know that
patrons are walking home empty I'm sure

Ha ha here in Reading they have just installed some "pop up pissoirs"
originally developed in the Netherlands to try and combat this problem.

Disappears back down into the ground after the pubs close and washes itself
clean :)

What OS are they using ?  Any chance to spend the night underground having
cold showers ?

Ahh no, not unless you are a dwarf. The things telescope down to something
like a third of length they have when above ground. The device is about a
meter in diameter, with 3 or 4 stalls around it, and no screen around the
outside of that :))

Yeah, well that's Reading for you, no shame

Can you see any advantage to these pop-ups rather than the
traditional loo block ? Aesthetics maybe ? Any chance all or
part of a gentleman ;-) can get trapped and dragged under ?

I think the idea is just to make extra facilities available during the night
while all the pub crowd is out and about to stop them using shop doorways
and back alleys. It would seem that the theory is if they are drunk enough
to need to go in a hurry, then they will go, shame doesn't come into it.

From the shame point of view, is it any different to a shop doorway?

I cannot recall what the safety guards are to make sure no-one gets trapped
as it disappears into the ground. I think it just goes slowly enough that it
is not a problem.
