anybody here ever switched view angles on LCD displays ? you can remove the bezel, lift up the glass / rubber
standoff assemblyoff the PCB (it's just sitting there, not attatched, bezel holds it on) and rotate it clockwise 180
degrees.

i've done about 4 of these so far with no problems but i'm wondering if anybody else has ever done this.  my vendor
is talking gloom and doom, but it's working fine so far.

thanks for your comments

dld

ps i'm switching these from 6 oclock to 12 oclock view (STN displays)

Hello Dave & PIC.ers,

Yup.
I'm currently doing this with Rohm RCM2010  20x2 char displays.

No problems so far, I initially tried to get the local distributor to
source the catalogue advertised 12 o'clock view part - this suits
my apps. better.
After getting an unhelpful run-around from them I tried turning the
glass 180 deg., reasoning that the manufacturers would have preferred
to make just one model of glass, rather than two.
It looks like that's what they do.

ISTR trying the same with other makes a while back, but without
success   YMMV.
