I'm looking for a SMALL printer (parallel/centronics) to use as an output from a
scope. I need mono, not colour and thermal output onto thermal paper or FAX paper.
These things used to exist years ago for ZX81 an 64's etc. any ideas where I could
get one these days in the UK?

Thanks.

Not specifically, but... maybe scavenged from a credit card terminal or
cash register?

If you aren't looking for killer performance, a thermal line printer
mechanism is pretty easy to drive.
Beware the connectors though. Get them along with the mech.

As an aid to searching, these are commonly referred to as 'Point of
Sale' printers also commonly abbreviated 'POS'.
I know - 'POS' has another definition (which, in some cases, may not
be too far off). :=)

We used to joke about how our competition put the POS in POS. :)

What about a receipt printer from a cash register? I know there are some
that are regular parallel...
