Hello, I'm trying to access a w2k machine on a lan. What am I doing wrong here? this is what I've entered: # mount -t smbfs -o username=duane,password=******,ip=192,168,1,109,re,uid=500,gip=500 //rick/c-drive/duane /home/duane/rick This is what I get in return: tree connect failed:ERRDOS - ERRnosuchshare (You specified an invalid share name) invalid share name - on which end? everything is correct as far as I can tell. The 'rick' folder in created in /home/duane. Do I need something in the /mnt dir? Any help is appreciated!! Also, you mount a share, not a directory under a share. that was it. I only needed //rick/c-drive. Thanks (again) for the help. The list always comes thru! (right click on the item you want to share and check - it should say exactly this). The share name is exactly what you put there - no drive prefix, no nothing.
