Hello,

I have a W2K box that has its IP assigned via DHCP.  When I run the
'ipconfig' command, the info is displayed and then the window is
immediately closed.  What can I do to keep the window open long enough
to read the info?

Thanks,
Duane

Go to start, run type in command to open a command prompt, then type ipconfig and the window will stay open

Click - Start, run and enter 'cmd'

This will give you a 'DOS' type window.

Enter ipconfig in their.

Or

Create a batch file with the following lines in it

Ipconfig
Pause

Now you can just run the batchfile name

If you go into Start->Programs->Accessories you'll find an icon
for "Command Prompt". You can drag that down to the left part of
the task bar so you get a command prompt and DOS window just by
single clicking it. Hold the Ctrl key down while dragging to
*copy* it to the task bar (the cursor shows a "+").

I like green text on a black background. Very retro.

Make a batch file containing:

ipconfig
pause

call is ipconfig.bat and run it

oh btw
in win 2k
command     is the "old" dos type thing
cmd             is the "new" command line

so try cmd first for command line work
