Hi All,

I'm designing a circuit that needs acquiring the incoming caller IDs from
the phone line, are there any chips (or whatever method) available that will
do that?

Thanks in advance!

John

I don't know if they will sell just the chips but Zeus Phonstuff (http://www.callerid.com/) uses PIC micros in each channel of their Caller-ID systems. I believe it's a PIC16C71.

Any microcontroller working as a digital filter, dealing with FSK signals
comming from the phone line between the first and second ring can decode
all the Caller ID frame.

Make a search at the net about the subject, you will find enough info to
serve as base to develop your own Caller ID - uC based.
