'[OT]: Windoze driver for Gerber Photoplotters?'

Anyone know of a driver for Windoze to output a file for a Gerber
photoplotter? My pcb program has an internal driver. However, we're
interested in getting some AutoCad files out of the photoplotter. Anyone
know of a driver for this?

Thanks!

Harold

Harold,

How about a DXF to Gerber file converter?

I have used gerbcon.exe which is a crude DOS application to convert
exported DXF files from AutoCAD and TurboCAD to Gerber files.

The gerbcon.exe application can not properly handle "lights" and some other
AutoCAD  attributes.
It is best to remove "lights" in AutoCAD and to view the intended output
DXF file in a DXF viewer to assure that only the intended artwork is present.

The free ware gerbcon.zip file (73k) is available at
http://www.pcbexpress.com/PCBlink.html under the Free Ware heading.

Sincerely,
Ned Seith

I doubt it - I think gerber is too application specific & limited to
make a sensible windoze driver for it. On Tue, 14 Aug 2001 12:16:10 -0700, you wrote:
