I typically go to Dayton about 5 days a week.  :)    Any other
piclisters live around here?

If you make it to Dayton, make sure you check out the 3rd floor
(electronics) of Mendelson's Liquidation (aka MECI).

I'm there once a year for the Hamvention. That was more the gist of my
question...is anyone going to the Dayton Hamvention?

I've never been to the Mendelson's store, they set up a nice tent at
the show though. I find a lot of the stuff there to be way overpriced,
and to be honest I keep seeing the same stuff there, year in, year
out. Sometimes they have cool stuff though, usually limited quantites,
of course!

I'm going to try to make it to Hamvention on Saturday.

Well, the actual Mendleson's store is somewhat indescribable.
Generally, poorly lit and a huge mess. An entire small room filled with
tubes.  Last time I was there one of the motor aisles had so much stuff
piled on the floor it was almost impossible to walk.  Maybe 10% of the
stuff has prices marked.  On the rest, the guy at the counter just makes
something up.  I've found the marked prices are rather high, but made up
ones are pretty reasonable.  Last time I was there I escaped with 4
matching Nema 23 stepper motors for $12.

Maybe we should do a little PIClist meet at the Hamvention this year.
Anyone interested? We'd have to set up a time and a place because I
never rely on radio communication to meet anyone there. Ironic isn't
it? But man, if ever there was a place more saturated with RF, it'd
have to have an even better fleamarket for me to hang out there. Did I
mention I bought a defibrillator at the Hamvention a couple of years
ago :)
